Toronto Chinese Business Association (TCBA)

Mission Statement

Established in 1972, the Toronto Chinese Business Association (TCBA) is the first Chinese business association in the Greater Toronto Area. As a nonprofit organization, TCBA is dedicated to create a healthy and sustainable environment for Chinese businesses in Toronto.

TCBA accomplishes its mission by:

•	Foster networking opportunities among members;
•	Build and strengthen connections between our membership and the mainstream business community;
•	Assist corporations to make inroad into the Chinese market;
•	Advocate for the best interest of our membership and act as key liaison with all levels of government;
•	Connect multicultural communities through business and social events.

One of the most well-attended events is the monthly networking dinner. It is a casual environment for attendees to exchange ideas in addition to business cards. The evening also includes a speaker who shares his or her views on a topical subject.

TCBA is instrumental in bringing the annual Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival to Canada. It is one of the most significant annual cultural and sport events in Toronto and TCBA is proud of the fact that Toronto and Canada are recognized on the international stage as a result. Since 1988, this event has thrilled over millions of participants and spectators with a variety of multicultural performances. The Festival represents the Chinese cultural spirit and it also generates over $10 million for Toronto’s economy every year.

In 2008, TCBA formed an alliance with Italian Chamber of Commerce in Toronto, Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, and Federation of Portuguese Canadian Business and Professionals Inc. as associate members. This alliance has enabled four associations to increase their network of contacts. TCBA also has a TCBA Junior Chapter which established in 1992, consists of members between the ages of 18 to 36, from various professional and ethnic background.

As the association has long been a driving force to build Toronto’s economy in every possible way, TCBA will continue its effort and contributions to promote Toronto’s tourism, diversity and economy.
